COMPUTER SOFTWARE for REFRIGERATION and AIR CONDITIONING PROFESSIONALS from MISTRAL.
In the United Kingdom and Continental Europe the electricity supply is 50Hz...
...whilst in the USA it is of course 60Hz.
Mistral is planning and indeed expecting that situation to change very shortly as RAC equipment manufacturers in the USA start to contribute their product data to the system. More about how this can be done may be seen by clicking here:- Sponsorship
You are welcome to receive the Mistral RAC equipment database & image file compendium.
We do after all send to members of our industry
free of charge but we must point out that for a few more months it is likely to be of limited use to you (unless you are exporting to countries operating
with a 50Hz electrical supply). Nonetheless it will show you just how advanced Mistral's systems are and you will find many manufacturers'
names represented that are familiar to you - such as Carrier, Copeland, Emerson, Tecumseh etc. It is just that only their 50Hz data is so far included.
Mistral will not include RAC equipment manufacturers' data unless we are paid to include it!
Why not?
Firstly because we don't own that data. It belongs to the manufacturers themselves and we are not so arrogant as to assume that they would wish us to include it. However, when sponsors (RAC equipment manufacturers or their distributors) discover the overwhelming benefits of being included then very few indeed would pass up the opportunity. After all, would you wish to eventually be the one company whose products are not presented to all your prospects and customers - when all of your competitors' products are!?
Secondly because it is an exceedingly long, difficult and expensive process if it is to be done properly and the best people to check that Mistral
have done it properly are of course the manufacturers themselves. We ask Sponsors to make a contribution* towards the costs only. By paying something towards
what is after all the privilege of having their products included and thus promoted via a software system that cost many hundreds, the complete system even thousands of
times, more than they are paying towards it, it nonetheless helps to 'focus their minds'! No one it seems ever appreciates anything that is entirely free!
*The cost of researching, assembling, compiling and testing the literally millions of database fields that are needed to accurately create
these dynamically linked RAC product databases runs into many times what Mistral charges in Sponsorship fees. Ask any company that has attempted
to do it for themselves! Mistral receives the balance of its necessary revenues from the hundreds of thousands of engineers, sales staff and specifiers
that pay a small fee for access to what is currently this unique but long proven system.
For a limited time Mistral offers Sponsorship packages with a 50% discount from normal terms -
The normal annual Mistral Sponsorship fee is $12,000 per product category. For a limited time therefore Mistral are offering program sponsorship at just $6,000 per annum (per product category). Sponsorship
There are currently seven product categories in the system. These are:-
Air Conditioning Split and Packaged Systems
Compressors and Compressor Packs
Condensers and Condensing Units
Coolers (unit coolers or evaporators)
Expansion Valves
Packaged Refrigeration Systems
Refrigerants
A product 'Category' can contain as many different products and product ranges, including all marketed variants (self-color finish, white epoxy finish, electric de-frost, hot gas defrost variants of unit coolers for example) across every refrigerant type and operating conditions that the equipment is designed to operate in.
Mistral operates its business with the strictest of ethical codes and we believe absolute transparency in business dealings is an important tenet of this policy. So called computer 'Software Houses' have through the years earned themselves a deserved bad reputation for hiding their true charges or costs to their customers. Worse, many have in the past 'trapped' their customers into continuing in less than satisfactory contracts, at the same time steadily increasing charges way beyond what can be justified.
With Mistral it is different. Our 'Sponsorship Contract' offers a cost that is 'fixed in perpetuity' (subject of course to inflation and as independently certified). In return Mistral contracts to provide work as is necessary, maintaining and editing databases, upgrading systems, adding and deleting information, Regardless of how much there is. For a fixed, identifiable and easy to budget for annual fee. Which can't ever be increased in real terms. Furthermore, the contract provides for the Sponsor to terminate it at any time they wish without fear of penalty.
It is perhaps understandable therefore that every one of Mistral's sponsors (that is still trading) right from the very beginning is still a Mistral Sponsor!
Never was there a more true adage than "You get what you pay for!"
