To install Mistral programs and databases it is necessary to run the Setup (setup.exe) program that is always supplied with bona-fide copies of the software. It is impossible to install programs successfully in any other way. Any attempt to do so would be bypassing critical security and registration procedures and result only in corrupted or incomplete file installations that are intentionally rendered impossible to operate.

CD-ROM installation
When installing Mistral programs issued on CD-ROM the Setup program should start automatically soon after inserting the disc in the CD/DVD drawer. If Setup does not start automatically then this is most probably due to automation of this facility being turned off, either intentionally or unintentionally, at some time in your computer's Operating System. Refer to the Help pages supplied with your computer's Operating System for further information on how to turn it back on or alternatively, using a facility such as Windows Explorer, you may search for and start Setup manually.

Installation from downloaded zip file
When installing Mistral programs issued in a zip file it will be first necessary to unzip the complete file set. This can be achieved using a proprietary program such as Winzip, copies of which are generally available free of charge and also by download from the Internet. Use a proprietary Search Engine such as Google or Yahoo to search for websites offering downloads of suitable file decompression programs such as Winzip. It is recommended that you temporarily create a folder into which you unzip the file downloaded from the Mistral website and which you can easily find. Look for and run the Setup (setup.exe) program. This will be in the 'root' (first level, un-named) folder in the file set.
