Mistral Associates - News January 2021

Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine storage at -70ºC/-94ºF.

All Mistral programs are uniquely 'dynamically' error trapped through an enormous and extraordinarily sophisticated set of algorithms that are developed to adapt to a developing design whilst it is in progress. This simply to protect users making inevitable input mistakes and of which no one is immune. An accidental overestimate of a design and estimate at time of tender can cost a company gaining a contract. A far worse situation is where an unnoticed underestimate at time of tender on a large project and resulting in an installation doomed never to work can destroy a company! THAT is the reason for 'dynamically' error trapping!

Part of this error trapping involves preventing input of design operating temperatures below -40ºC/-40ºF. Design temperatures below this involve significant and dangerous health risks, require a greater level of skill to execute and also access to specialised refrigeration equipment and its commissioning.

These though are exceptional times and we are asked how to get 'Coldwind Pro' to accept freezer room design temperatures down to -70ºC/-94ºF. The temperature at which the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine must be stored following dispatch from production facilities until shortly before application.

Mistral has provided a simple solution and one whereby its requirement of special user intervention reduces the risk of the solution leading to poor diligence in engineering.

A system of Special Features Codes can be applied to both 'Airwind Pro' and 'Coldwind Pro' programs which allow relaxation of parts of Mistral's Dynamic Error Trapping System.

Click on 'Options' on the programs' top menu bar and then on 'Customise'

Click on 'General'

Click on 'Advanced'

For example. Allow 'Coldwind Pro' to accept room design temperatures down to -99ºC/-146ºF enter MIRF in the box provided.

Descriptions of special program features that have been added will appear in the Features activated box.

To delete special program features (thus reverting the program to its standard operating mode) simply highlight the feature in the Features activated box and then click on Remove Feature.
