ventilation

Ventilation (applies only to Air Conditioning and Beer Cellar Cooling versions of the program)

Ventilation inputs are accessed by clicking on the Ventilation button and are considered for the purposes of the program's calculation procedures to apply to positive air pressure introduced through the air conditioning evaporator at Ambient conditions. Caution should be used to avoid risk of over specifying air infiltration where positive pressure air conditioning and/or ventilation systems apply to the room design under consideration. Air infiltration is more likely to become air leakage in such circumstances and any figures entered for air infiltration only likely to adversely affect (increase) the final air conditioning loads.

Options are provided to select either 'Computed' ventilation or 'Specified'. When selecting 'Computed' the program automatically links to the 'Personnel Details' input function to recommend the ideal ventilation rates (dependent upon personnel numbers and activities).

In 'Computed' mode therefore ventilation rates and resultant gains will not be displayed until 'Personnel Details' have been entered.

SI operation

Ventilation may be specified using any one of four methods:- Air changes per day (24 hour day); Litres per second; Cubic metres per minute; Cubic metres per second. The program, with the benefit of automatically established room volume, automatically computes the remaining values against any one of the four input methods selected.

Imperial operation

Ventilation may be specified using any one of four methods:- Air changes per day (24 hour day); Cubic feet per second; Cubic feet per minute; Cubic feet per hour. The program, with the benefit of automatically established room volume, automatically computes the remaining values against any one of the four input methods selected.
