Food introduced into a coldroom or freezer is referred to throughout the program as product.

The program includes a large and comprehensive database of common food and other relevant products, along with their individual properties. These properties include freezing temperature, specific heat above freezing temperature, specific heat below freezing temperature, latent heat and where relevant respiration heat.

The program is provided with a simple to use database editing tool and users may add or edit data for access by the program even while the program is actually running!. Key values for product properties may be entered using either Imperial units or SI (metric) units and whichever unit of measurement is chosen the program will automatically calculate and simultaneously enter the other.
