Christmas upon us once more. The years seem to get ever shorter. Fond memories of happy families and old friends start flooding back.
One Christmas a dear lifelong friend from the old country came to stay.
"Oh, you've bought a grand piano. I didn't know either of you could play." Our friend exclaimed.
"We can't." I replied.

"Well pardon me for asking, then why did you buy it?" She continued.
"It's a long story. A few years back I asked my dear wife what she would like for Christmas. And she said that she was hoping to learn to play a musical instrument."
"And you bought her a grand piano?!" Our friend exclaimed, rhetorically.
"No. It didn't happen like that. When my wife said she wanted to play an instrument I asked her what sort. She replied that a Saxophone would be nice. I thought that a lititle ambitious as a first instrument to learn on, and told her so. She didn't reply. So anyway I bought her a Recorder."
"And so your wife learned to play the Recorder?" Our friend replied.
"No, she didn't. So the following Christmas I bought her the piano."
"Why?"
"Because it isn't possible to put a grand piano where my wife told me to shove the Recorder!"
