Human Progress by Evolution and Initiative or Stagnation by AI?
Notwithstanding the issue that AI, if allowed to develop unchecked, uncontrolled, then all human incentive, all initiative will be destroyed. No inventor, no engineer or scientist, no writer or playwright will be prepared to dedicate their lives or invest their lifetime work and financial investment into creating anything. Only to see all their effort squandered to millions of intellectual property thieving machines. Thus the inescapable conclusion of stagnation then finally destruction of civilisation and ultimately mankind itself.
No educated and intelligent person can possibly deny that Charles Darwin and his, at the time ground breaking, even contentious theory of Origin of Species embracing 'Survival of the Fittest' was absolutely right.
But what is the 'driver' behind Survival of the Fittest? Answer: Genetic Error. Without successive genetic errors in life reproduction cycles mankind, or any other life form for that matter, could not possibly have evolved.
Planet Earth would never have got as far even as home to Primeval Soup. Let alone beyond it.
So, what are the numskull IT coders going to suggest? That they intentionally introduce logic into their AI algorithms which generate random errors? With no humans reining in errors things could get interesting.
