Mistral's 'Expert System Software' is a Managed System. No matter how good software is, no matter how well written and how thoroughly proven, 'Expert System Software' can never be considered to be finished. Any software developer thinking otherwise is only deluding themselves! There is always room for improvement; by streamlining functions or adding new features for example. Also of course there are the massive quantity of proprietary databases, containing tens of thousands of interactively selectable RAC equipment. Refrigeration Unit Coolers, Condensers, Condensing Units, Compressors, Packaged A/C and Refrigeration systems etc. These must be kept up to date, especially to meet constant advances in refrigeration technology. Therefore Mistral operates its 'Expert System Software' as an annually renewable 'Managed' System.

Annual renewal is not though performed automatically. Mistral never presumes that its valued Licenced users throughout the world will always wish to renew their licences. Even though well over 99% always do! Mistral also never automatically bills Licensees by Direct Debit and only invites licence renewal, leaving this decision totally under the control of its Licensees. But when to renew?

The answer is that licenced users can freely renew at ANY time during an active licence period, if they wish. So as to always have access to the very latest data and also to ensure compatibility with unrelenting advances in computer Operating System technology. However, towards the end of an annual licenced access period a notice will automatically appear advising how many days of access are remaining. Actually at the 28 days point. From that point repeat reminders occur at 7 day intervals. During the last 7 days reminders appear daily. This system has been in place for the past three decades, and now there is a further enhancement.

What if a company wishes to know precisely when renewal will be essentially required, even months before it is due? For annual budgeting purposes for example. Mistral has therefore introduced an additional function to its Registration dialog and which is accessed through the 'Master' Program Group illustrated program launch forms. At bottom left of each 'Master' Program Group illustrated program launch form there is this icon button:- registration.gif Clicking on the icon produces Mistral's familiar, standard program installation Registration & Activation form. This form now displays the current installation access expiry date.
