A company with 10 staff and 5 users should not be expected to pay the same as a company with 20,000 staff world-wide, where arguably all of whom are benefiting from the also just 5 staff in their organisation that are using the software. Mistral's costs of providing faultless pre and post installation support for the latter are also not unexpectedly much higher for larger rather than for smaller organisations. Larger organisations are therefore expected to contribute more for the benefits of the product their business gains and for the infallible service their business receives from Mistral Associates.
Mistral's customer support team frequently receives requests for help from customer employees whose name never appeared in any installation download request form. Naturally, as many organisations and particularly larger ones, have computers which are accessible to more than one staff member. Sometimes as many as a dozen or even more. Mistral does not have a problem with that. However, please bear in mind Mistral is obliged to answer every legitimate question sent us by our valued customers, and is happy to do so. The costs of doing so though have to be met.The total number of employees therefore must include every person on the permanent payroll, including out field workers and staff operating from home that report to or who are accountable to a principal at the primary business address. Whether or not they are ever likely to or need to personally operate the software themselves.
Subsidiary companies of separately registered organisations must obtain their own Access Licences. Access Registration Codes cannot by effectively obtained by proxy and passed on to subsidiary companies or organisations, or to non employed third parties or to sub contractors.
Finally, don't forget. Mistral has costs as well, including salaries and employment taxes, property and utility charges, royalty payments and just like your organisation, except probably very much higher, professional software licence fees too!
There can be no argument against Mistral's completely fair and reasonable policy*. It is also the same policy as employed by practically every other Expert System Software provider in the world.
