Pieces of Eight spacer_transparent.gifAbsolutely 100% word for word verbatim.
I mention how graciously my superiors used to treat me during my visits to the US. The main plant the focus of my role as a Sales Rep for Europe was in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

1980 and one day we had a group of Mexican clients visit for a factory tour. In the evening all involved piled into this rather notorious and less than salubrious restaurant cum bar cum strip joint which was built on the end of a pier sticking out into lake Michigan. Named, almost predictably, Pieces of Eight. I was bid to attend.

Everyone was smartly dressed in obligatory three piece blue pin stripe suits. All very sober. The four convivial Mexican gentlemen were distinguished by their archetypal enormous droopy moustaches.

Conversations revolved around the price of oil following the Mid East price hike and its possible impact upon our corporation's fortunes. No one really taking a whole lot of notice of the almost dressed young floozy waitresses bending over wearing wide belts to serve us. No skirts, just wide belts, they obviously forgot the skirts.

In honour of our guests Margaritas were the order of the day. A large glass bowl of chip ice sat in the middle of the table, surrounded by a dozen or so blokes. Suddenly one of the Mexicans stood up, leaned forward and mid sentence from our President picked up the ice bowl and hurled the ice up to the ceiling, whereupon it descended and showered everyone around the table.

"Eskimo orgasm!" Our hero yells at the top of his voice. The packed to capacity restaurant erupted.

At which point jackets and in some cases pants were discarded. All the girls ran for cover, but to no avail. Promptly urged to return to 'duty'.

A good time was had by all.
