Have you recently upgraded or are you about to upgrade your computer or its Operating System to run Microsoft Windows 11?
As you might expect, as Microsoft Corporation, in their stated endeavour to 'Help the Planet' are consigning hundreds of millions of perfectly serviceable computers to landfill or reclamation furnaces. Thus software developers like us are being overwhelmed with questions.
We sympathise with you but Mistral staff are not paid by Microsoft to do their work for them. If you can, please direct your questions to Microsoft.
However, to answer a few mundane questions we can easily provide answers for these right here.
Firstly, Mistral has spent and continues to spend millions both upgrading and updating our world class Expert System Software. So 'Yes', all Mistral software is fully compatible with and tested to run under Microsoft Corporation's Windows 11 Operating System. Both 'Pro' and 'Home' versions. We don't like it much but like you, we have no choice but to upgrade. Upgrading not just all our products but also the machines we use to create and to distribute our products. Regrettably this might mean Mistral has to increase its licence program access fees in the future. Not by a huge amount and we will try to put off doing so for as long as possible.
Secondly, If you have a later model PC and which will accept upgrading its Windows 10 Operating System to Windows 11 then there is nothing you have to do to your existing Mistral software installation. Mistral had been preparing for this Microsoft Operating System upgrade for many, many months. Therefore any Mistral software you installed since the launch of Windows 11 back on October 5, 2021 is fully compatible.
Thirdly, Mistral will continue to support its software products for Windows 10 users as long as it is viable for us to do so. At least as far as mid October 2026 and most probably beyond.
Mistral's valued 'Lifetime' Licensees who have not upgraded since October 5, 2021 will be asked to make a small contribution to upgrade to the latest Mistral versions. A modest one time payment only, at a fraction of the full licence fee, purely to cover Mistral's administrative costs.
Thank you for your continued support, and good luck with Windows 11, and it's seemingly endless new complications.
And finally, best wishes from me and all my hard working colleagues at Mistral.
