What is Code Signing?
Code signing is a technology for verifying the authenticity of the publisher of a download to avoid a computer virus or malware. Software that is officially certifed by an authorised agent of Microsoft Corporation with a digital signature is considered safe to download.
Unsafe or unrecognized software publishers may be identified by an Operating System form indicating that the publisher or author is not recognised, and cautioning the user to use their own resources to make certain the download is from a trusted source.
